The effects of the Coronavirus outbreak are being felt around the world impacting all major economic sectors, particularly the tourism industry. In the past couple of months, Malta has experienced the closure of major businesses and brought the tourism industry in Malta to its knees.
Although most sectors will be able to start recovering as soon as the restrictive measures are lifted, the tourism sector will most likely have a longer-lasting effect due to international travel restrictions. This challenge will leave employees within the tourism sector with significant downtime.
Let us take this downtime as an opportunity to upskilling our competencies.
E-learning and virtual classroom
Whilst we are not able to meet in a classroom setting, E-learning will be utilised to develop our potential to be future-ready. Focusing on further learning and development will increase our motivation and engagement.
E-learning offers the opportunity to achieve certifications, the chance to prepare for the new ways of working, and the possibility to return to employment with better skills. As we move forward from this pandemic, all the learning and development will ensure we are equipped with adapting faster to change and better recover from this unprecedented crisis.
